With over 100 coaches on staff, Yorktown is often seeking qualified candidates to coach in various sports.  All candidates will be required to pass an APS background check, complete several required online trainings, attend coaches meetings for professional development and show an appreciation for the importance of using athletics as a means for developing social-emotional skills in our young adults.

Varsity Football Coach - Applications are being accepted until Friday, December 6 via email with resume and cover letter to michael.krulfeld@apsva.us - This individual will oversee the operations of a three-level, 130 member football team on a day-to-day basis including off-season activities, practices, games and community engagement.  The focus of the team is student-athlete development both on and off the field with a focus on producing strong members of the community who feel an attachment to the school and football team well after graduation.  A strong history of success in these areas has been demonstrated by the prior coaching staff with a foundation to build on.  The selected candidate will have significant coaching football coaching experience, the ability to manage a staff of assistant coaches, direction for integrating three levels of teams, strong communication skills, the ability to hold players accountable as needed on and off the field, and impeccable integrity.  The football season runs from August 1 to late November, but off-season activities occur almost year-round.  The head varsity football coach stipend is currently $8,830 based on the 2024-25 pay scale.
