With over 100 coaches on staff, Yorktown is often seeking qualified candidates to coach in various sports.  All candidates will be required to pass an APS background check, complete several required online trainings, attend coaches meetings for professional development and show an appreciation for the importance of using athletics as a means for developing social-emotional skills in our young adults.

Junior Varsity Cheer Coach 

As part of the overall cheerleading coaching staff, this individual will oversee the development of the less experienced students.  Safety, fun and structure must be paramount and the successful candidate will bring prior cheer experience either as a coach or student-athlete.  Additional safety training is available.  The winter cheer season is primarily sideline at games with limited practice opportunities.  Games are typically at 5:45 pm with arrival at 5 pm two to three days a week.  The stipend for this position will be prorated based on time commitment and availability.  This position is for current winter season or next fall.

Assistant Junior Varsity Softball Coach

The JV assistant softball coach will operate as part of a larger overall softball coaching staff and assist in the development of 8th-10th graders.  Ability to work cooperatively with the head coach, motivate students to challenge themselves physically, while developing student social emotional skills is required.  Practices are typically held from 3:30-5:15 pm Monday-Friday with games two nights a week at 6:30 pm.  The softball season runs from February 23 until mid-May.  The stipend for this position will be determined based on time commitment and availability with a range of $800-1250.
