High intensity game! WL created a lot of goal opportunities, however unfortunately for them we have a top class GK who made save after save, this gave our team confidence to stay with the game. In soccer when you don't make the goal ...your opponent will....and we did it. YHS created a few chances, but the one that we needed the most to happen was when Garret received a ball in the middle, dribbled past a mid then a defender. He got tackled from behind, earning a free kick from just outside the box. Sam Dokken took the free kick, fired an unstoppable shot low on the GK's post to score a great goal 1-0 with 11min to go. From that point YHS managed to handle the pressure from WL. WL had a couple of chances but Hayden was there....as the entire game, impeccable.
Great effort and team work from our boys to win the 2017 Arlington Cup!
