The Yorktown Freshman boys basketball team rallied once again after a tough start to the game. Down 17-3 at after the first quarter, the Patriots came out with shut down defense holding Mount Vernon to just 16 points the rest of the game. Yorktown trailed the entire game until the 4th quarter when guard Izaiah Clark hit a clutch 3 pointer to put Yorktown up 31-30 with 3 minutes left in the game. It was a battle of missed free throws and tight defense on both teams down the stretch, but the Patriots came out with their 2nd win on the season. Yorktown was led by guard Jay Maddox with 17 points. Yorktown (2-1) will host Westfield in their home opener Friday 12/11.
