Hi team, we're hoping to offer a way for new runners to get to know the XC coaches and a way to learn a little bit about our training and routines. Next week on Wednesday (July 8) we'll be meeting to go over our warm up drills and other exercises that we include in our training. This is not a practice, and we will not be running. However, if you're new to the team or you've forgotten the drills and exercises that we do, fill out this survey, and we'll get you added to our list for Wednesday. Also please feel free to reach out to Coach Jacob or Coach Robertson if you have any questions.
Please note the following rules: All student's that attend will be required to bring a mask and wear it for stretching and warm ups. You will also be required to bring a water bottle (preferably reusable and at least 32oz.). Each student will have their temperature taken and will be asked to go home if their temperature is above 100.5. We will stretch as a group (with proper social distancing), but when you leave for your runs, everyone will be asked to run by themselves with at least 10 feet between each runner. If you want to run with your friends, you cannot attend our team practices. If you sign up to come to a practice and don't show up, you will not be allowed to come to another practice until August 3 at the earliest.

Team,
I'm excited to share that tomorrow is the start of summer training for cross country season! We hope you enjoyed your down time and are ready to start building up for a great XC season. We have extremely high expectations for this team. We can accomplish some really exciting things this year.
Other than the occasional announcement, we're moving all communication for cross country to Team App. I've already posted this week's training plan, so please join our team in order to get training and info about the season. Athletes and parents are both encouraged to join! Download Team App and join the team Yorktown XC 2020.
Can't wait to see you all soon!

Hey Team,
As we move into the summer months, I'm thinking more and more about the XC season. As I've talked with some of you I see how much of a need we all feel for connection right now. What else do we need right now? Properly functioning bodies! Can't crush those summer miles if you're dealing with tightness, soreness, and injury problems.
The best way I can think of to meet both of these needs is a weekly mobility session via Zoom. We'll be meeting every Monday at 11:30, so you have plenty of time to get a run in beforehand if you like to run in the morning.
I've posted the zoom info in an event on our Team App page. Please download Team App and join our team Yorktown XC 2020. This is how we'll be sending out the majority of info about the XC season. Parents are also encouraged to join!
I hope to see you all tomorrow morning!
Coach Jacob
As always, feel free to reach out to me (jacobdumford@gmail.com) and/or Coach Robertson (kevin.robertson@apsva.us) via email with any questions.

Hey Team,
Cross Country season may seem a long time from now, but given that many of you (maybe all of you) will not run an outdoor track race this year, it's time to start looking toward the fall. Join Coach Tom, Coach Robertson, and me via Zoom on Monday at 4pm. We'll be talking about XC and answering any questions you have for us about what to expect. Feel free to send this info to anyone you know that is interested in running with us in the fall.
